Spelling: Students learned common spelling pattern for the long /e/ sound: e, ee, ea, y

Cursive: No cursive assignment this week.

Reading: Today was a reading skills practice day using MobyMax Reading Skills Informational and Literature.

Writing: We talked writing an interesting lead at the beginning of a story by starting with visual details for scenery or a character, writing some talking, or adding some action to start the story.

Students also worked on planning the beginning, middle and ending of their story.

A fiction story is due Sunday, December 15. Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes. Your student should be finishing prewriting tonight.

Math: Students completed the unit test for multiplying 1-digit numbers today. Homework on weekdays is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: We read a book about how some animals (turtles, lizards) use their sense of sight to look for food, while others (guinea pigs) use their sense of smell to find food.

Social Studies: Students worked on the Power Problems note page started last week. This is homework if not done in class.

Character Strength: We are learning about gratitude this week.
