Online activities for Tuesday, May 5
See our Online School Agenda to see what we worked on today. You and your students can easily get to the agenda from go.mrhowd.com/online.
Reading: Students listened to a short story and then used clues from the text to determine the theme. Students also practiced theme skills at MobyMax. Check the Online School Agenda for details.
Writing: We continued to prewrite about possible poetry topics. We also read more from the book, Love that Dog, and talk about nature poems, animal poems, small poems with visual details and common topics, and turning a story into a poem.
A collection of poems will be due Friday, May 15. Check the Online School Agenda for directions and links. Students should have a list of poem ideas and one or two poems started by now.
Math: Students worked on comparing fractions with unlike denominators by comparing fractions to common benchmark fractions. Check the Online School Agenda for directions and links.
Science: None today.
Social Studies: Students started watching a movie about the Underground Railroad to learn about movement factors in slavery. Check the Online School Agenda for directions and links.
