Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.

Reading: Students completed a STAR Reading test today.

Writing: None today due to the AR kickball game for students that reached their AR reading goal for the third marking period.

Students will use information they have collected for their I-Search informational research project to begin creating digital slides next week. The project is due on May 1. Students will share their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference on May 1.

Math: Students used MobyMax to practice adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators, or multiplying fractions.

It would be helpful for students to continue working on these skills at home if they haven’t had enough time in class to master them.

Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.

Science: Today was the first day of the A World in Motion (AWIM) Jet Toy Challenge. Local engineers helped students begin to design a balloon jet-powered toy car. Today, students were designing the chassis.

Social Studies: We learned about how important the church was to colonial Virginia. Homework is to finish the reading notes for section 9.8 if not done in class.
