Mackinac trip–start looking for rain gear

Class activities for Friday, May 2, 2014

Spelling: None today due to an assembly about internet safety.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Friday.

Reading: Students completed a STAR Reading test today.

Writing: Today, we talked about having a double focus in a poem. For example, a poem could be written about grandpa’s big, old, tough shoes, but the shoes can also tell us about grandpa.

A collection of poems will be due Friday, May 16.

Math: Today was a Khan Academy work day in math. Homework is to work on MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for 15 minutes or more.

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Friday.

Writing: We learned today that all poems have at least one of these ingredients:

  • Imagery: visual details or other senses that the reader can see, feel, or picture.
