Class ativities for Wednesday, October 23
Spelling: None today due to the late start schedule.
Cursive: Cursive workbook pp. 31-33 are due Friday.
Reading: None today due to the late start schedule.
Writing: We talked about using specific words instead of general words that make the reader confused:
- use “rust,” not “brown stuff.”
- say “instruction manual,” not “car booklet.”
- write “jack,” not “thing to lift the car up.”
Looking for better and more specific word choices is one way a reader can revise their writing to improve it.
Today was also a drafting work day. The third and last piece of the marking period is a slightly fictionalized personal narrative, due Friday, November 1. Your student should be finishing the end of their draft by now and ready to revise tomorrow.
Math: Students worked on math skills using Khan Academy today.
Science: None today due to the late start schedule.
Social Studies: None today due to art.
