Reading: None today due to art.

Writing: We started our final writing project of the year, called Find It, Decide It. Students will work with a partner to research and make a decision. This piece is due Friday, May 30.

Math: We continued practicing fractions today. We used Khan Academy to practice three skills:

Homework is to work on MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for 15 minutes or more, and to level up on the skills listed above if not done in class.

Science: We reviewed special adaptations that animals have that help them survive in the wild. We also learned that organisms of the same kind can have similar adaptations, but also have variations that make them different.

Social Studies: We looked at special purpose maps of the US about elevation, precipitation, population, and temperature.

Math: We continued practicing fractions today. We used Khan Academy to practice three skills:

Science: We learned about what food is for plants. Humans need to take food into their bodies to grow. But plants can get about half their growth just by combining carbon dioxide from air and water. The plants use the air and water to make sugars, and about half of a plant’s leaves, stems, roots, and wood is made from sugars. Homework is to finish the Is it food for plants? review page.

Social Studies: We learned about the physical landforms of the US, and made a made to show the mountains, plains, plateaus, valleys, and basins were.

Writing: We talked about using white space and line breaks to group ideas on certain lines, or to group lines together, while leaving some lines that are more important by themselves.
